Hiccups

Pete's parents arrived on Saturday to help us out for the next week. They had a bit of excitement on the way as they did some unplanned deer hunting. Somewhere around Paint Rock on HWY 72 a deer decided to sacrifice itself to their car. Honda CRV: 1, Deer: 0. I guess the deer deserves some partial credit since the Honda's radiator is shaped like a banana now. Fortunately, it's still drivable.

Yesterday Jack started to get a little congested so that sent us in a panic. All of Laura's experience as a pediatric nurse went right out the window so she called the on-call doctor for the weekend. After hanging up, Laura sheepishly confessed his advice was no different than the advice she has given countless parents in the past. A little suction to get the junk out, some saline drops and a cool mist humidifier seem to have Jack feeling better today.

Last night he was a bit restless though and this morning got an outrageous case of the hiccups. It lasted for almost two hours. Fortunately, the camera was charged and rewound so I got a little bit of it on film. The video's a bit dark since all the lights were out, but the sounds are pretty funny. Well, for everyone but Jack that is...

It looks like Jack will usurp Laura as being the champion hiccupper. What a precious video!
