What a big day we had Tuesday - Little Jackson came home! After spending 1 day shy of two weeks in the NICU, his nurses decided they had had enough of Jack.

The morning started out with us getting to the hospital just before 8 to get the ball rolling with Jack's discharge. Around 8:30 we walked over to Dr. Reidy's office for Laura's checkup then returned to the NICU. We got our discharge instructions while Jack patiently worked on his car seat test. All he had to do was sit there and take a nap, so he passed with flying colors! Even though the car seat is the "Snug Ride" it still looks huge on Jack. We had to use all the tricks to get it tightened down on him properly.
With all that accomplished, I was sent to get the car while Laura and his nurse got our cart of goodies loaded up. It was just Jack's stuff, but I think it was more than Laura and I packed for ourselves when we were in the hospital!
Here's Jack loaded up on the cart before all his other stuff made it...

Rounding the corner in the NICU:

Goodbye NICU!

In the elevator. I'm not sure if this is the nice one or the one that tries to eat the young and elderly...

In the car!

Jack made the ride home in what's been his typical style - asleep. He seems to be adjusting to home well. He's becoming a little more alert for longer periods, though he still seems to like sleeping through mealtime. Ok, so this crib is a bit big, but he should grow into it quick.

Well, that's it for now. He's got an appointment with Dr. Brassart Wednesday morning. I'm sure all his fans at the doctor's office can't wait to see him!
